This site contains two separate bodies of work:
[1] Mathematics & Research [2] Fabric Dyeing & Textile Art
These practices are presented independently. Please contact me by email at normansheu@gmail.com or on Instagram at airmailfromformosa.
I completed my PhD in mathematics at UC Davis under the supervision of Professor Adam Jacob. I completed my BAs in mathematics and statistics at UC Berkeley.
My research is in differential geometry. My dissertation explored the deformed Hermitian-Yang-Mills equation with Calabi Ansatz. I am currently interested in how differential geometry appears in biological phenomenon.
Areas of interest: • differential geometry • differential equations • computational biology

This section presents my work with fabric dyeing, including indigo, process-based textiles, and material exploration.
Processes: • indigo dyeing
Selected works / documentation:
• Finished Work • In-process experiments
This section is intended for artistic and material-based audiences.
